YF** ZST Is this you ???
You need to get your Xenons fixed mate as they are feckin blindin.
I expect you are on the forum as you had black grills so must be into some form of modding. |

Annoying as it is I think you shouldn’t put the full registration number, next thing you know they'll be two YF** ZST's on the road. Only list part of it and the location so the if the owner does use this forum they’ll realise you’re referring to them.

Making your car look cool at the expense of blinding/dazzling oncoming drivers or drivers looking at you in their rearview mirrors is unacceptable, bordering on dangerous. As petty as it sounds I wish the fuzz would do something about this sort of thing and while we're on the topic of mods, numberplates which use non-standard font/size too. I'd nick and fine the lot of ya, maybe add some community service picking litter into the mix too...while wearing a bright orange jumpsuit with "Douche" written across the back. |

To OP, I think what you may have seen is someone who has installed a HID Kit in regular headlight housing...to be glaring to that degree you have felt the need to expose the person who did this. EDIT:OP, the guy you saw can't have had Xenons? I'm confused... |

I couldnt help myself
I'm all for people modding their cars and have nothing against it in principle, but I can't stand the "blue LED windscreen washers and 100000000000000000000000000W headlight" crowd. Really does my head in. EDIT: I must be getting old?! Last edited by toxicnerve; 12-08-2009 at 11:56 AM.. Reason: Because I'm turning in a grumpy old man!! |

5000K here, who the fack would put blue LED windscreen washers on a BMW, rant seems a bit inappropriate in a forum full of E90'ers. Take it to the nearest Corsa forum or Clio forum...

Also the 5000k to which you refer indicates the colour temp of the light given off by your lights, not their wattage. While colour temp can be an issue with regards to causing glare, the major factor that causes the "blinding" effect is down to pure wattage. A 5000k bulb of appropriate wattage need not be blinding but it should be noted that the higher the colour temp the closer to white/blue (rather than red/orange) the light given off will be. I've seen conventional temp lights that are massively powerful (think highbeam bright). Surely no one thinks that is appropriate? Part of me thinks that people do it knowing full well that they are dazzling and indeed with the intention of causing other drivers discomfort. There's no other explanation for having stupidly high wattage bulbs... |

The guy deffo had xenons because he had angels and it was a pre LCI.
I reckon the full beam assist flaps were stuck open or broken. That would explain the f"kin bright lights. |

While we're on a rant, is it me, or are there far more cars around with their front fog lights on? Coming home tonight, I reckon that 1 in 30 cars must have had them on...

when fitting hid kits, the bulbs can be 'moved up' making the glare annoying as hell. Dont me ask why people do it, but ive seen plenty who do it.
factory xenons ftw! |

Probably a bit off topic with this one, but as we are on the subject of lights I have just ordered a set of blue / white led angel eye markers from Teddy, can't stand the custard yellow stock ones Marc |

It should be perfectly permissable to drag people out of their cars and beat them with a pick-axe handle if they drive around with front fogs on when it isn't foggy just because they somehow think that it makes their shitbox look like a Lamborghini Gallardo.

because some after-market HID kits are essentially a re-based D2S bulb in an H7 halogen base. Some adjustment is possible to try and get the centre of the arc in the correct place for the lamp assembly.
