5-Series touring (F11) comes out from under the camouflage
The new F11 aka the 5-Series touring (wagon) seen here in a basicly de-camo'd state reveals that the midsize BMW wagon will continue with the tried in true format now packaged under the F10 style skin.
The car is elegant as it is sporty and clearly places an emphasis on style over absolute load lugging capacity (after all, thats what the GT is for right?..). Engine offerings should be similar to the F10 Sedan which range from a 2.0d (in europe) all the way up to the firebreathing 550i V8. The sedan is expected to arrive in dealerships this Spring, so I would guess this car will arrive shortly thereafter, possibly in the summer. |

I really hope that the F11 is sold in North America. I much prefer it to the 5 GT. Anyone have any more info? Rumors on this board suggest that the 5 GT might be offered instead of (not in addition to) the 5 series touring in the US and Canadian markets.

As a former owner of an E34 touring, an E39 touring, an E46 touring, and an E61, I very much hope the new 5 series touring will be available in the US market with the option of manual transmission. Thanks! |
