A stray cat got into my car garrage and...
...decided to sleep on the hood of my e90 jet black...seems like the damn critter enjoyed sleeping too as there are scratches here and there on the hood. What makes it awfully sad is that I never saw the damn thing get in my garage as I parked and it had a good 7 hours of play time with my car's paint.
I wanted to strangle the cat after seeing it in the morning and the handiwork, but I was going to be late for work. Now I'll need to find a good way to remove them scratches...and an easy fix to kill that critter if it tries to get inside my garage again. I prefer less messy methods for this damn cat. Any ideas? If the cat belongs to someone hold it for ransom until the owner pays for a paint job....
If it is a certain stray open the hood and place it in the engine then drive away, will teach it that hoods arent so comfortable

How deep are the scratches? Pics would be ideal. If you can't easily feel them with your fingernail, they should polish right out.

Cut the cat up and sell it to a Chinese restaurant to cover the cost of repaint

Incidentally, I used to live in Oregon where the winters are very cold. One of our younger cats decided to sleep where the engine was still warm somewhere under the hood of an older truck with a belt driven fan.....the end.

Sorry to hear about that, OP.
Solutions: (1) animal control and/or trap; (2) vorsteiner vented hood (in that order)

also op if the cat belongs to a neighbor see if you can make them pay for it. if not contact your local animal catcher people (whatever they are called) and have the cat picked up. this might be a good time to ask the wife of girlfriend for a CF hood for christmas |

Thanks for the suggestions. Unfortunately its a stray cat. No one owns the little critter. Also I wanted to vent out my frustrations really. I didn't mean to post this on the wrong forum lol. Like most people said already, it's too much energy and time to waste for chasing someone responsible for a clawed hood. I'm better off working a few days to buy a new hood instead...lol.

Until you are sure you've closed all the access points to your garage, maybe an electric blanket should be plugged in out there . . .
Best regards, Wede |
