Visibility Package

Is it worth having the visibility package after buying?

Or is the cost so high that there's no point in buying it? Any recommended pros to do this?

Thanks

What is in the visibility package? I assume Xenons and adaptive headlights?

If so, you can only practically get them when ordering the car. Retro fit is hugely difficult and horrendously expensive.

If car is already ordered or is second hand, it's a no-no I'm afraid.

Although not impossible it would be uneconomical to put adaptive and or xenon lights on your car after the build.

Visability Package on my car included

Xenons
Headlight wash
Adaptive (xenon lens pivots left and right for corners)
Rain Sensor and Auto on headlights
High beam assistant

I think dealer prices for headlights and ballasts exceed £1200 for parts. The headlight wash is needed for MOT and would require a new bumper as well. Xenons also require auto levelling which is sensors on the front and rear axles for MOT. All in at full prices, fitting and coding I guess you wouldn't any change out of £2k +. Makes the £805 option at build seem a bargain.

The Xenon lights have been fitted by some forum members for well under £1k but required some parts deals and high element of self fitting.

The fitting of Xenons / Corona rings ought to become a sticky as so many people keep asking the same question of fitting these after market.

Well the Headlight wash comes with the Xenons if you order them.

Rain Sensor and Auto lights is standard on all cars.

And also essential if you intend to use the car in the winter

All very valid points.

I don't know the price of the visibility pack but if it is too high, look at least at getting the Xenons as they really are worth every penny. Adaptive is nice to have but Xenons should be standard on all cars in my opinion from a road safety point of view.

And car companies need to make money, therefore offer options for you to upgrade. Many people believe these options are a waste of money even if you a I don't. As I stated the visibility pack for my car was £805. Not a lot in my book for additional visibility/safety.

The clear windscreen is part of the visibility package.

Xenon lights run cool. Halogen lights run hot.

In freezing temps normal lights melt the snow or ice that builds up on the glass. On Xenons this does not happen which is why you have to fit "heated" washers to cars with these types of light.

Rain sensors and auto lights are only standard on 6 cylinder models.

I don't recall ever reading that the headlamp washers have a heating element. I have read that the windscreen washer jets are heated.

I stand corrected then

Part of the type approval for Xenons otherwise they could snow up or ice up in the winter.

Of course there is nobody here brave enough to take their car out in snow but that's another story

But I can't see how a simple heating element in the washer nozzle itself is going to keep the headlamp lens snow and ice free??
