Mega's E90 BMW WIP: 1 year of progress!

Well, I've had the car since January now and its changed in some very significant ways. Although I've often posted up a new mod as I've done it, I thought it was about damn time I put all that together in one thread.

This first post will contain all the progress that I made, and then the second post is something a bit special

So:

Jan 2009:
Got my car on the 18th of Jan from Vines of Redhill down near Mark.
Here she is after getting home. You can consider this the "before".

She was a very plain but nonetheless good starting point. My best car by some distance, but the competition has not been tough But lets start putting my personal flavour to it...

Jan 2009: Modding begins

Within a week of getting the car, I'd done my first simple mod:

It was fitting the private plate, and then the M Style number plate surround..

Feb 2009: Black kidneys

So I picked up my black kidney grills from my good friend "90% Fitment HSU" aka Teddy from SSDD Motorsports.

..And a couple days shots of the car at this point:

March 2009: Debadge

Removed the '320d' from the back to clean up the rear end a bit...

[size=4]April 2009: Purchases And remap!

All I did in April was buy some stuff basically. For a future project see

Oh, and I also got the car remapped:

June 2009: Lights

This was the month for the E90 Blackline rear lights! Why did it take me so long to do this mod???

Before:

during:

AFTER

July 2009: It BBS a good time to see you..

Shit just got real. Staggered BBS CH 19" Alloys fitted:

July 2009: Mr 90% Fitment earns some more of MEGA's Money.

Another visit to see Teddy and another month in the overdraft. I purchased 2 rear spoilers for the E90 from Teddy, an Aero bootlip and an ACS rear window spoiler.

Here are some pics where you can see said mods:

Sept 2009: ICE ICE baby

Well, just intime for Santa Pod BMW Show, Andy down at ICE COLD Audio was done with his magic tricks, and the install was in.

Comprises of:

Alpine D106R Flipscreen head unit
Alpine NVE-n099p Navigation unit, with Alpine 2009 Smart map pro disc (newest maps)
2x Phoenix Gold PLD1 Line drivers
2 sets of JL Audio XR650CSi components
JL 10W7 subwoofer

2x Phoenix Gold Ti. 500.4 amplifiers
Phoenix Gold Ti. 1200.1 mono amplifier
All JL audio and power cabling.

Heres a pic during the process...

Aaand theeen....

Oct 2009: Carbon!
Only thing i did this month was fit my carbon badges, the clip on replacement ones that Teddy sells. Once I stuck them down with double sided tape they were fine

........And here we are. Some current-day, brand spanking new never-before seen shots of the Tug boat AKA gyroginge AKA megamobile...

I love it. Those pictures are amazing!!! You are one lucky guy *applause*

I think the next step would be making some sort of actuator for that arm rest possibly pressure or button based to flip down at the touch of a button. Pointless if you can use your hand but way more impressive.

Really appreciate that mate! I know this forum is less mod friendly than most I'm on, so positive comments to counteract the "urgh its not a standard SE with chrome and cloth seats" are always well received

See you on Saturday..

Bizarrely, that was exactly what I thought....

Drum N Bass Anthems 2009 (sponsored by Specsavers) to be exact...

Nice looking car mate, and excellent photos.

Might I suggest you seek out and attach something made of plastic to the front, in the form of what these 'modders' call a front splitter

Best pic by far. Tinting would make that look even sikker.

Rims look very shiny, also lol @ the exhaust tailpipe. Makes the back end look a lil bit weird. You planning on putting a trim of some sort on it. The speaker convert in the middle of the rear seats does not look all that aesthetically pleasing tbh (probably not the look you're going for anyway). Looks like it's done wrong, looks a bit tacky IMO. Rest of the car is cool though.

Well, there was a reason for the sub being where it is. If its centered, then a shot like the above would be much much better looking - BUT, how often if your chin planted on the armrest? Even with my driving style not too often And from a seated position - it looks perfect where it is, you can't see the screws at the top and you can see all of the sub at a "pleasing" angle.

Re: the exhaust, its on the list for next year - as is the rear half of the car being tinted; and maybe a front splitter. Other than that? I'm done.

Cheers for the feedback.

Looks very mean Dave
Wheels in particular look great.

Are you running on spacers? Or are the tyres (rear) 265's or larger?

What are you planning in terms of the exhaust?

Is your boyfriend the dominant partner?

Looks great! I really really want to get a set of those BBS alloys ordered now

I agree tints would finish it off nicely.
