The Best Dealer Hack Detail There Is

So Itake My Car In For Some Updates And To Get My Window Button Trim Replaced Because It Was Peeling. And Of Course I Asked Please Dont Wash The Car (although It Needed It Badly) So I Get The Car Back After 4 Hours And Im Talking With The Parts Guy And He Is Bragging About Their New Detail Guys This And That. After You See These Pics You Can Only Imagine The Face He Had When The Car Was Pulled To The Front.

I've seen on multiple occasions bmw guys dropping their rags onto the floor and just pick them up and start drying the NEW cars on the lot. I can't even start to imagine what those guys do in the back to unsuspecting bmw owners.

Honestly, I have a DO NOT WASH written on a piece of cardboard and place it on my dash board/windshield every time I'm at the dealership for service. I don't even have them clean my interior.

I do this too, even with a very good relationship with my SA. Additionally, I'll still politely remind her each time too. Worked so far, but I still get uneasy dropping it off.

Speaking of which, the E90 is due for service in the next week or so.

Jopa and Enforcerman:
I guess I shouldn't be so surprised that other fanatics do this too

I thought I was going overboard. I made that sign up with my AW BMW. Now with my SBM BMW, that sign is going to get bigger!

I have a laminated sign I keep in my glove box and then attach it to the steering wheel before I go in to talk to my SA . Use the same one every time and they get used to you. You can still droive the car with the sign in place and that way the service tech sees it too.

He also highlights in yellow DO NOT WASH on the service ticket. I've never had them wash it yet but I have an excellent dealer and service dept.! I still don't take chances.
