Interior/Exterior Protection

I'm taking delivery of my SG 328i Sport this Friday, and I'm wondering if people can offer some advice on the Total Protection Package (for interior & exterior) offered by the dealership? Am I better off going elsewhere for this protection (i.e. Ziebart, etc...) or is BMW's protection package worth the price (CDN $2,000 with 3M guard or CDN $1,200 without).

Has anyone here used the Ziebart Diamond Gloss?

Also.... tire insurance? Assuming this is a big waste of $$$$

Thanks!

I got PermaPlate (www.permaplate.com) done to my car. I have been told by a friend that is worth it, so that's why I got it.

I have the Ziebart Diamond Gloss on my car for 2 year (applied twice), it surely made cleaning the car easier, but I really don't see how it protected the car.

Garage List

2008 750Li  [0.00]
2006 BMW  [0.00]
Do a search in the forum and you will find what products are best for both. Don't buy the stupid paint protection. A good wax and sealant will do just fine as well as a garage. Good luck and enjoy!

Wax and seal your car every week and clean and condition your leather every week. You'll be fine.

Absolute load of BS. Get some good wax on there, and you'll be golden. That price is ridiculous - you might as well put the money into the fireplace and get some heat off of it rather than just throwing it directly into the garbage..

Ya... right.
With a quallity sealer there is no need for a weekly;
that's anal to the highest degree.

This is just a huge cash grab.

I'm getting a pro detailer (Picus) to do a new car prep & negotiating a reduced PDI.
The dealer won't touch the exterior or interior of my car.
Then I'm getting the clear bra front end wrap independantly.

It'll be a fraction of the TTP cash grab & also be 10x the quallity.

DO NOT go for it! not worth it
go to a qualified detailer like picus, aka Kevin to seal your paint, or do it yourself if you ahve the time and energy

Well I certainly feel the difference between weekly and monthly seal. With weekly, I'm not scared of any water spot anymore. They just wipe away. Used to do it monthly and some water spots still was hard to wipe. I use EXP. And besides, having the paint silky smooth even on the engine hood turns on Just me anyway.
