Sirius subscribtion
Got a question about the Sirius subscribtion...can the subscribtion only be used with the car radio or can you buy other sirius devices (such as home radios) and pick up the signal from the bird? Basically, getting the feed on more than one device without paying for more than one subscribtion. Thanks

Yeah, the best option to get is the lifetime plan (never pay a bill) which is $500.
Since the E90 comes with 1 year free you can deduct the cost of one year, which is $13 X 12 months = $156 So you end up paying $500 - $156 = $344 $344 divided by $13 per month = cost of about 26.5 months of service If you plan to keep the car for more than 26.5 months it is worth it. Also you are able to pay $75 (up to 3 times) and transfer this lifetime subscription to a new radio (new car, or just newer radio whichever). |

Direct to Sirius, after you take delivery BMW doesn't get involved with it unless there is a hardware failure.
www.sirius.com Look at their plans, it is only valid until the end of the year (lifetime plan that is) |

i got my son a Sportster Sirius and pay the reduced rate for the second subscription.
I just read in Home Theater that XM has a tuner for the home that can send 3 separate channels to different parts of the house at the same time; wonder if Sirius will meet that offer. Also, remember you can get Sirius over the internet; if you can hook it into your stereo or have good computer speakers, you've got free home access. As home wireless networks get better, this is probably the best solution. |

__________________________________________________ _ The lifetime referred to is Sirius'. :-) It's a gamble but not as risky as it could be, I suppose... |

the sub carries over to your next 3 cars (if you stay in the family) or your next 2 cars and then to a home unit (probably the smartest way to do it) |

Sirius lifetime subscription question
Long time lurker--first time poster.
Does anyone know the process for setting up the yearly subscription to Sirius? If I order it from Sirius will they automatically deduct the first year I have already purchased through BMW? Does this have to be done right away? I hope to pick up my car (finally) this week. Thanks in advance, Justin |

When u get your car u notice a long SN # on your satellite radio. Should be a 800# to. Call them I did from my car. When u give them the long serial number few mins. later radio will play. Sirius should already know that u have 1 free year with your BMW. If not remind them. u did buy the satellite radio for $595.00 & not prewire When your free year is over, just renew it then. |

Well this was much easier than I anticipated. When I picked up the car I just called Sirius and told them I wanted to take advantage of their "lifetime" membership option. They automatically deducted the "free year" from the total price. Could not have been easier.
The only challenge I did have was finding the SN (EIN?) of the radio. It showed on the radio just fine, but when I called Sirius, the car took over the call (I had already paired my phone) and the radio then showed the options for the in-process phone call--so I could no longer see the SN on the radio display. I finally had to hangup the call, write down the SN, then call them back. But everything works great now! |
