Curious but isn't the Generation 3 board the "newest" board? The one with the connector on the bottom of it thats made for JB3 2.0 once it's released?

That is the board that is made if you want the BMS tuning tool and if you want to custom tune via 2.0 that will be out next year.

But 1.4 and all other normal production maps you need Gen. 2 boards on to work correctly.

not true..3rd gen boards work with all software

Thanks for that i meant to say you need gen 2 and on boards to work with 1.4 and future maps.
