BMW Performance upgrade UPDATE

BMW called me today with official pricing and availability.

As I have a dec 07 car I need to have a new ECU as well ( that also makes it more expensive for me.

£1325 Kit
£506 Labour

£1831 incl VAT

326 BHP
450 NM

As I have the Performance Exhaust and getting an uprated FMIC fitted next week, I should be able to get about 340BHP, if not a little more.

I can't wait to see someone get this kit fitted and see what a Dyno Rub shows.......it's gotta be better than 20BHP

Si-135i,

With just SSTT (UK Superchips) a few have dyned ~370 BHP and 520 NM torque. Thats £200 (from SSTT, USA) for > 50 BHP and 100 NM over stock - makes the BMW effort seem a little over priced.

You would still get the full BMW warranty though. Will be good to see just how high these BMW modifed cars dyno.

I agree, also the evolve map with the Forge FMIC I am getting next week is about 400BHP for far less than the BMW pasckage too.
so many things to decide upon

Have any other 135i owners recieved the power upgrade brochure through the post from BMW?

Seems they are really trying to push this upgrade but I cannot justify the cost. For an extra 60hp I would take the plundge but the £2K outlay for 20 ponies is just too much.

Yep,

Got this last week Mike.

Can't justify the cost at the moment - my SSTT does just fine.

If I change to Z4 35i, I intend to get the power upgrade and combine with SSTT.

I would quite like to win the competition though! Can't be that many 1/335i owners out there who can be bothered to enter? For me the only justification is the warranty thing. Which if you blow a turbo could come in handy

Yup I got a letter the other day!

Seems very costy for a small amount of extra power.

Think the JB3 would be the better spend......THOUGH bmw say they fit a power powerful fan to keep the engine cooler....so im thinking of gettin the BMW upgrade, then the JB3.......

hmmmmmmm

They list the parts seperately. So, would be interesting to see if they would supply and fit the ducting, fan, motor etc and not the ECU ? Then you could Map elswhere whist having better cooling.
