BMW touch up paint pen?

Hi guys, My door got scratched pretty bad so I ordered the bmw jet black touch up paint pen with the clear coat pen... how do I apply to the door? I know first I would have to clean the door first... then what?
Also, can I do this without sanding it?
Thanks for the help!

Wash, degrease (Dawn or such, washing liquid), sand the spot down, apply paint+primer (first stick), let dry, apply clear laquer, let try, sand down, polish.

Look here: http://autopia.org/forum/guide-detai...nt-clinic.html

I had a similar problem a few days ago (scratched the car down the the primer, but luckily it was mainly on the tow hook cover, which can be replaced). I didn't follow the above procedure, I just washed the car, applied paint+primer, let dry, then laquer. It looks bad - i.e. you can still obviously see it was scratched. I didn't want to bother with it too much (new tow hook cover + paint costs like $15). All in all, if you want to do a proper job, follow the autopia guide.

EDIT - unless its a large scratch (more than finger nail in diameter), I wouldn't bother with it - MAYBE with a toothpick, but definitely not with the supplied brushes, you'll just get paint everywhere and it'll end up looking worse than you started out with.
