Texas World Speedway Motorsports Performance Driving School

This is going to be on Oct 31, I'm seriously thinking about attending this event, as I have no previous performance driving training and I'd like to be able to know how to drive better...anyone from Texas going?

Thanks for letting me know about this event. I don't know if I'll be attending or not, but I'll surely look into it.

I was thinking of selling the car by the end of this year and after my first track experience with it, I decide to keep it for three more years.

I have two more track events this month and I'm seriously thinking about third one . Nawaaz, scott1026 pleas let me know if you guys are going.
Do you now if they ranging clockwise or counter clockwise ?

I went to the website, and thought about it a little deeper.......Yet I just wanna get my M3's mods done with first, since that's really bothering me.

Then, I'll seriously consider going to the track so that I can brush up on my driving.

Nawaaz .... It good to know your car more before getting the mods plus the car has enough HP for know. It is hard to drive this car to it's limit.

I still have the 19's Edwin.

I'm planning to go to the track, but I've had my mind set on getting my mods out of the way and done with. I'll have a freer mind afterwards.

Don't worry, I haven't forgotten that the track is the ultimate playground.

No need to be nervous ur going to have fun .

For the first time use your stock wheels if you still have them. if you like it, I'm sure you will, then get a track wheels & tires.

I have been using the D-force as my track wheels, light with reasonable price.

Its pretty fast. Much faster going clockwise. If you look at the track map, you are on the throttle from corner 3, brush the brakes going into turn 2, and then back on the throttle all the way into turn 15. You should be able to get up to 140mph as long as road is clear pretty easily. Probably get up to 150.

CCW is not as fast and, IMO, a little risker. Going off Turn 1 and 15 can turn into a bad day.

Lesson learned...bleed your brakes a couple of days before the event and bring an extra set of front brake pads.

Hey Scott, go 11/7 and 8 with Driver's Edge. I will be there and also a couple friends! Also I've heard that DE is more organized.

150 is likely, but it's best not to try and get those with little to no experience thinking about terminal velocity coming off the front straight

Because of the way you need to approach the track CCW vs CW, going in to 15 is not as scary as going in to 1. CW is more fun, too. All the turns open up and there just seems to be a more consistent flow. That said, the challenge of CCW is a better teaching/learning tool.

Yes. That, for a newb is about the only thing you need to worry about. Well, that and enough tire tread. Certainly *not* track wheels and tires.

If you can go...GO! A regular (I think) poster here was a student of mine in September and he had an absolute blast.

So true but I don't know how you can avoid get sucked into the drag race down the front straight.

Sounds like a better time to do it any way. I need to get some new street tires soon!
