New owner, need USB/iPod help!
So I just picked up a used 07 e92 335 with i-drive and the usb/ipod option.
Unfortunately, my car didn't come with any owners manuals so I'm trying to figure things out by searching the forum. However, I cannot seem to find a straight answer for this. How do I get the i-drive to "see" my ipod or iphone? I've tried 2 different ipods, one very old one (not even color) and and an ipod 'photo' (also very old, one of the first color ones). After connecting the devices, I went to AUX then to USB and it says something to the effect that 'this device is not compatible;' same thing happens with my iphone 3GS. The ipods/iphone do charge however, but are not read by the cars i-drive and therefore don't play music. (I'm connecting the ipods with the apple-supplied USB cable; the same one I connect my ipod/iphone to my computer with. Then I'm plugging the USB side into the usb port under the armrest. - if this information even matters) Thanks! |

You will need the Ipod cable supplied from BMW with the 1/8' Stereo connector on it.
