muffler delete whistles

I just got my muffler delete done today and it whistles at higher rpm's. The shop says it is the tips whistling because they are not resonated. Has any one had this problem or have any in-site for me.

It only whistles at high rpm not all the time

Nope, i have MD and it sounds fine. What kind of tips did you get?

thats weird, maybe its the tips or there is a hole in the welds and hot air is passing through it at high RPM

they are off brand tips 2.5 in dual 3.5 out double walled.

I'd say check for imperfections in the welds and around the tips

Yes i have the same issue it was alot worse before i took it back and had them clean up the welds but its still there when i floor it.

Ill post some of my private vids so you can hear it

more of a hissing

The welds seem good would it matter that the new piping goes in to the tip about 2 inches. Could it be "Whistling" off the edge of the new pipe?

I got a bigger pipe put on had a 2 1/4 now have 2 1/2 also had the expandable part of the tips cut off no more whistle, it is also louder with the bigger pipe.

I just mine done yesterday and I get that funny whistle like sound at hard accelerations. I have a feeling it might be the tips. I had 2 1/2" piping into a double walled staggered/ angle cut exhaust tips. I still don't know what you mean by having the expandable part of the tips cut off. Are you talking about the other end of the exhaust tips that go into the piping?

There was someone awhile back that said his tips were whistling -- but he got the quad tips.

come to think of it....I sounds more like I'm peeling out mixed with air. I wonder if it's the exhaust tips. I don't have the magnaflows. I ended up getting these cheap silver-line looking ones. Could it be the air passing through the single pipe to the y- shaped dual tips? I don't know...it's driving me crazy.
