Yep, they snap in place.

I switched from aluminum to wood - the aluminum scratches/dents too easily...and I found the kit on EBAY for only $200...

I switched to aluminum for my 328i. It's a special order (only available on 335i at least in Canada). Cost me 800$ Cdn so approx. 700$ US

I would also like to change the trim on a Canadian E90 from Burl Walnut to Grey Poplar Wood.

Grey Poplar is currently only available on the E92. Can someone chip in:

1) Can Grey Poplar parts for E90 be ordered? (any really dark trim would be fine).

2) Can I do this myself? What tools do I need?

3) terry or anyone else, did you order parts from the dealer? or who quoted you CAD 800?

Bad idea. Aluminium scratches and dents easily. Wood does not.

thats true, but with just a little bit of care, nothing will happen. i dont even think i ever touch my trim.

I almost bought a 335i e92 off the lot with wood trim I wanted alum. They said they have never heard of anyone switching them. I wanted them to switch it with another e92.

It gets tiring constantly reminding one's passenger's though, infact my dash trim sustained a small dent right next to one of the air vents in my first week of ownership! Still can't figure out how that happened...
