Lack of new Z4s???
I've not seen a single new Z4 on the roads since they were launched a couple of months ago.
Just noticed that there's 8 pages of used/virtually new Z4s on the AUC website (plus another 3 1/2 pages 'coming soon'). Have Beemer not done very well with sales with this car or something - looks a cracking car from where I'm sat (if a little expensive when compared to the old one). Surely a good deal to be had on the used ones.

They have a Z4M at my local dealers (I think - only saw it from afar) - it looks fantastic. Always been a fan of the Z4 and a serious NON fan of the Z3 (apart from the M Coupe).

Didn't think the M Sport was even out yet. Sure I only saw some spy-shots a couple of weeks ago with it still wrapped up. No plans at all for a 'proper' M version though unfortunately.
Seems strange that I've not seen any. There's usually loads of new stuff floating around near me (first '59' plate car I saw was a 911 Turbo!!).

It was definitely a 3.0Si and it definitely had M badges on it. It also definitely looked nice and was definitely the new shape. Will take snaps of it next week if it's still there!

Strange. Still can't build one on the website which is quite often a good indicator of when it's due to be available. You've been able to build an X1 for about a month now and it's not out until next month.
Maybe there are some accessories that can be added which make it look a bit different.

I did only glance at it - met dark blue, 3.0si, light yellowish leather, lovely dash, a few M badges. Maybe they got it in early? I hope it's still there!

I have seen a few in my aread and on my travels. Loads on AUC for sale must mostly be launch cars and ex demo's.
///M version definately isn't out yet. They look very butch with some optional wheels. I thought that BMW have also rebranded the new Z4's models as sdrive and so they do a sdrive23, 30 and 35. |

JLR - doh! I never look good!
Just checked the BMW website - it had the pure white interior option - looks damn cool! Definitely new shape - I didn't look hard but looked enough to know it's the new one. |

Had a drive of the S-drive35i the other week. It was metallic black with the all white leather interior. The car was very nice and the interior is VERY well finished off. The switchgear, etc if far superior to the 3 series and everything felt very high quality.
The thing that disappointed me was that it didn't feel as quick as I thought it would? Maybe I have been spoiled by the M but it actually felt quite heavy and not that sporty? Looks wise, it is a beautiful car, maybe just hot a little too lardy compared to the out-going Z4. There is defo no M sport option yet so not sure why the interior of the one '335D' seen would be covered in M badges? BMW have also confirmed that no Z4M will be produced either which is a shame. |

Definitely looks more 'exotic' than the old one. As stated, there are no plans for a Z4m right now. May be that the V8 doesn't fit? |

Woohoo, finally seen my first new Z4 on the roads. A lovely dark blue one. Must admit I thought it was a Maserati GranTurismo at first (quick) glance. Very nice indeed. I can rest easy now!

Strangely enough, watched Factories week on National Geographic last night. It was about building the Z4 in Spartenburg, S.Carolina.Below is how one guy describes it..
Super Factories Week: BMW It rockets from 0-60mph in 5.6 seconds and reaches 155mph before an electronic speed limiter says "that's fast enough". It handles so well, the G-forces might make you lose your lunch before the Z4 loses its grip on the road. But the $45,000 BMW Z4 Roadster's strongest selling point is something that never shows up on a spec sheet - the feeling of sheer driving pleasure. Top down, the throaty roar of a muscular 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder engine, and nimble handling will make you want to drive the Z4 simply for the thrill of the open road. To manufacture such an artful instrument of automotive pleasure requires three ultimate factories. The first factory, in the Bavarian heartland of Landshut, Germany, casts the automotive industry's first magnesium composite crankcase, which results in the world's lightest six-cylinder crankcase. The second factory is in Munich, Germany which takes the lightweight crankcase and precision assembles a 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder engine that delivers 255 horsepower. The lean German muscle is then shipped to a third factory - in Spartanburg County, South Carolina, USA. Every BMW Z4, on any road anywhere in the world, is American-made. From here, a state-of-the-art manufacturing process takes the Z4 from raw bits of steel to a graceful body with a flawless finish and sumptuous creature comforts. Finally, the body is mated with a powertrain and somebody somewhere in the world gets to drive their dream car. Three ultimate factories combine to deliver an ultimate driving machine - the BMW Z4 Roadster. |
