Thank for the heads up. It's my 3rd time with them and I have been thinking about the insurance.
Where can I get it from?

That's the #1 reason I'm buying a track car.

+1 If don't mind me asking how much you looking to spend on track car? I was thinking of doing the same thing but the first reason I got this car so I can use it in the track/street. Plus the money that I'm going to spend on buying a track car, mods, and fixing costs will add to almost equal in the future ( one or tow years) value of descent new delay car, at the same time I can keep the M3 for the track/street. My plane is not to enter a competition driving events, I just wont to go fast and have fun. It's just my plan and it could change any second .

I'm getting a '98 E36 M3 with 87K on it. It's absolutely stock, it even has the stock airbox still (a rarity these days). I'm going to pay $9K for it. I'll have it inspected by my local BMW speed shop and throw some track pads on it and head out. I'll probably do some other stuff over the winter like put on brake ducts, the x brace and strut brace, and probably a SSK. Eventually I'd like to put in some race seats, a roll bar, and 5 point harnesses.
I originally looked at one on a salvage title that had been hit in the left rear quarter panel. The reconstruction looked alright and I would have bought it but it had evidence that a supercharger had been installed at one time and then removed. There were some other electric gremlins too, no traction control, and a messed up MAF. I decided to pass. I figure I'm getting into an E36 M3 for less than the price of motorcycle, PWC, or snowmobile. It's hard to pass up. Plus, I won't have to insure it at the cost of $300+ every track weekend like I have to with my E92. Tires and brakes are a lot cheaper for the E36. Also, there are a ton of parts for E36s aftermarket and used. The only drawback is I'll be going a little slower and I won't have the V8 soundtrack in my ear as I head down the front stretch.

I got some of me behind QTR3 with a good sound clip of his exhaust.
Did you trailer your M3 out there?

Here are some vids from my gopro. My DVD camcorder captured QTRM3's exhaust pretty clearly but I can't edit the vid in windows movie maker for some reason.

Thanks, you too!
I'll try to get that video up of me behind you which has a really good sound clip. I remember someone telling me that they thought the stock race car was running with the blue group until they saw your M3 going down the front straight. I'll say it again, your car sounds awesome!
