I just got the dreaded call from the wife

No, not the one about her leaving me but worse. Someone rear ended her in the BMW and the bumper is f*cked up. I just turned 10K miles on it and not one thing wrong with it until now. My baby is now tarnished and I may not be able to drive it again.

Oh, need a body shop recommendation!

been there, done that. time to get the MTech bumper and new exhaust!!!

i used Collision Works in Beltsville. They did an OK job, but if they would have listened to me from day 1, I would have gotten my car back a lot earlier.

make sure the insurance company gets you a NEW bumper and post pics too.

Sorry to hear that. I'd definitely be going M-Tech! I have used Gott Auto Body in Annapolis (one street off West St.). They do some of the best work around and come highly recommended. Good luck

The car is sitting at Gott's right now and then over to Elite Auto Body. Elite specializes in Mercedes, Audi and Porsche and they had two M3's there, so that made me happy.

It's a hike for you, but Wagonworks does great work. Sorry to hear about your car.

Jason, sorry to hear this. Stay away from Mile One Collision Works. They took 3 weeks for a voluntary front bumper shape and repaint! Then when the P went to them back in July, it took them 3 weeks just to get it near a lift and call the insurance adjuster. This is where Tischer sends all of their work.

I just got the first estimate back and $620 for the repair. I got a chance to see the damage and it's not bad at all. Only two small holes from the guys license plate screws and the dent popped out. It still needs to be filled, sanded and sprayed.

Great service so far from Gott's and Severn Auto Body, just waiting for Severn to get back to me this evening.

Why should you care about how much it costs? Did the other guy hit your wife, or did she back into someone?

I would go new bumper instead of filling, sanding and paint, but that is just me.

Yes, he hit her and I really don't care since I'm not footing the bill. Both places I took the car to for an estimate both said it doesn't need a new bumper. I calmly asked for a new bumper at both places and they both showed me the car on the lift and the minimal damage. The is no damage to any of the bumper support, no damage to the exhaust. You can't even see the dent anymore after it was popped out. Stopping by one more shop today and we'll see what happens.

Am I the only one who caught this line?

Bummer, but sounds like your car will be back to normal in no time!
