jb3 question

can i safely run map 5 with just a dci and catless downpipes no intercooler? or am i stressing out the turbos to much? i know an intercooler allows me to run the same power on less boost but now im raising the boost is that going to be a problem with out it? i dont want to take risks or anything like that if its to risky please tell me thank you very much everyone!

the only problem is that you will heatsoak faster on map 7 , you will notice this if you do lots of pulls but for normal driving the car will be much faster.

Map 5 is about 14.5 Psi and map 7 15.5 psi.
However you will pass the 110F IAT temp quick if you push it constantly and the PSI will drop a lot.
As i said before for daily driving is fine to run map 7 with NO IC with occasional WOT.

+1 It shows boost, IATs, lets you create your own map and switch between them on the fly.

Nope, I mean there are settings you can tweak to essentially create your own map. Check out n54tech.com for all the details but you can set things like boost, throttle sensitivity, A/F ratio, etc. Also, yes it can display IATs.

The boost gauge is a must have if you run jb3, i actually miss it now after GIAC flash.

Come back to JB3 lol

Map switching often is seriously overrated. You test a a few maps to see which you like and you set it there. Your foot controls the power. I went from map 4 to 7 and i havent touched it in forever! Map 4 was nice, map 7 worked properly/healthy/strong in my car so i stuck with it.
