Question Stupid Question about Sunset i need answered FAST!!

LOL. When you check like weather.com and it says Sunrise and Sunset, if it says sunset 7:15PM, does that mean that the sun is right on the horizon line and its like 2 minutes from being completely gone? I need to know. Thanks.

Good question.

Sunset is when the sun disappears below the horizon. FYI, dusk is when darkness falls, which occurs after the beginning of twilight which is when the sun itself sets.

I know this place like an hour and half away from my house. Its a mountain, and it faces exactly to the west. Its i think 2K Feet high over looking nothing but flat land. This time of the year the sunsets directly in the middle of this if you stand there. I was going to take my girl there. But theres no way I am making it now. AHA

Jonathan said, I think, what I'm about to say but if you check the sun data for one day, you will see times for when civil twilight begins (sky gets bright), then sunrise (sun peeks above horizon), then sun transit (halfway point), then sunset (sun dips below horizon), then end civil twilight (sky gets dark).

Usually, you have a good 30 minutes before sunrise and after sunset to enjoy the colors of what we normally call the "sunrise" or "sunset."
