Fields and loaner cars

Dropped my car off at the dealership a few minutes ago to get my Year One of the 1 starter ring installed, and I asked the girl behind the service desk what heir policy on loaners was. She asked I'd I bought my car at a Fields dealership. I said no, and she said loaners are only for Fields customers. Is this normal?? What if you move, the dealership doesn't have he car you want, etc.?

It's normal. That's one of the perks of buying from your local dealer. If you move you're SOL.

I've heard this is fairly common for dealerships. Fields doesn't go out of their way to make customers happy.

I was going to buy my car through Fields, but I got a MUCH better deal, the difference could pay for quite a few weeks worth of rental cars

It's something every dealer does.

My local dealership gives me a loaner even though I bought elsewhere - no problem.

If a dealership won't service your car because you didn't buy from them, you should look around and find someone else to service your car. If they're so cheap to hold a grudge, you can bet they'll screw you in other ways.

Pretty standard practice. When I got my year 1 ring put in, I just opted to wait and it was ready for me in 20 minutes.
