I have both the bt and odbII reader. The obdII reader is good to carry in the trunk to quickly check any random lights that pop on.
And the bt tool is needed for shadow codes and more indepth code analysis and data logging. Everybody needs an odbII reader. Tuners for sure and even non tuners could use the bt.

I have had the unit for a month now. It works really well with the e90.
My e46 (2003 4 door 6 speed 330i) it does not give me a whole lot. I probably need to get on a call with tech support to see if I am missing something.
