Deposit on TTS

My brother is about to put on a deposit for a brand new TTS.

Has anyone dealt with AUDI Mayfair in London? They are part of the Sytners Group, which worries me?

And looks like they only want to give a 1 hour test drive...

was wondering what I should be asking for when purchasing a brand new car?

courtesy car if car is delayed? etc....

And taking advantage of the scrappage scheme discount aswell, Only problem is that the car might not be delivered on time to be eligible for the scheme. HOWEVER, the salesman said that the dealership would honour the discount if I don't get the scrappage scheme because delivery of the car is delayed...should i get something in writing?

thanks guys...

I tried to get a test drive from them when the S5 came out. I was hot to trot with company cash at the ready and they couldn't be arsed to sort it out or return any phone calls.

They rather made the decision for me.

There is someone on here who could or probably would sort out the test drive problems, and may be able to sort you a deal also.

Any Audi dealer I have ever been to (only about 3 in total - but enough) the salesmen have been a bunch of arrogant clueless tossers.

I would never darken their doorsteps again!!

well, yes i agree, when looking for a new car (i bought the 318i) i looked at an A4 but they would hardly talk to me because i pulled up in a modified car, they just looked down their noses at me. Its happened at a few placed, but the worst were definately Audi and Ford. They were so reluctant to let my have a test drive, once i informed them i worked offshore, they went "oh...i see.....would you like a cup of tea sir while i get the keys" but at that point i told them where to ram their keys and walked out.

I have close friends which sell cars, and thats why i wouldnt buy a car off them because they are FRIENDS. When i am buying a car i want the best deal possible not some guy to try be your best mate and think because he tries to be your mate he can bend you over the table and extract every last penny out of you!

+1

I had cash ready to buy a nice RS4 6 months ago from Wayside in MK

Possibly the worst customer service I've ever encountered, and I'd (foolishly) bought from them before.

Went to Porsche Cambridge instead, complete opposite

From my experience Porsche dealers seem to be the best of the bunch. Very helpful and not pushy at all.

Buy a Cayman instead

emailed the franchise director of sytners today (i got his name from the sytners website)....

then i got a call from the sales manager looking after audi west london and he mentioned that he looks after audi mayfair aswell....

explained to me that they can't let me test drive a tts for more than 1 hour and due to some "shortage" reason bullocks, there are not many TTS around ...and the car they actually gona allow me to test drive is a used car....and i have to be accompanied by the salesman....and he said driving the car for 1 hour should be enough for me to know about the engine!!!!....

1 hour test drive, thats all they want to give me...and i'm spending £29k circa....paying upfront....

and plus, i always sense some arrogance when talking to these Audi pricks....not asking them to clean my shoes or make me tea....just want a good deal and a 2/3 hour test drive.....am i asking for too much??!!!

I posted on the TT forum and they don't seem to be "BMW driver friendly" .... LOL

quote below :

I've dropped by AM in Piccadilly a few times when nearby for work, and always found them very helpful, attentive and professional. I've also bought previously from one of Sytner's Mercedes dealerships and was very happy (much more with the process and service provided than the actual car itself, but that's another story...).

As for what their core customers say about the group, I always defer to the thought that BMW drivers are not right in the head anyway

No, you're not asking too much imo!

How come I recently was allowed out unaccompanied in a TTRS that belongs to the finance Manager of an Audi dealership, also been allowed out in another Audi by the same dealer and my local Audi dealer basically gave me the keys to another Audi and said see you when you've had enough!!

This is my first experience with Audi dealers and so far so good although my local one has a 'reputation' for arrogant sales guys. Maybe I was just lucky.

Are there any other Audi dealers nearby who you can play one off against the other?

Edit: The TTRS was a cracking car, bloody well put together but expensive perhaps.

That would be a first working that way around lol

Grimsby Audi, small dealership and 'personal' service imo and Hull Audi, who as of beginning of August are now part of the JCT group.

I spoke with Chris at Grimsby Audi, only young but loves his cars and say Helen with the Porsche referred you. He'll remember me bless him as I've promised him a passenger ride in the Porka which I must sort out this weekend perhaps........a promise is a promise!
