Servicing - Oil cost

Hi,

Can anyone give me an idea how much dealers typically charge for oil as part of a service? I believe its 8L that's required?

Have never provided my own oil before but Opie have a great deal at the moment - 8L delivered for under £68 and so I sense an opportunity to get one up on the bloody car and save a couple of quid, with a service just over the horizon

Ta

I believe it to be:

"Castrol EDGE 10W-60 for special BMW M-Series engines"

Just had a note back from my dealer telling me they charge £19.07 a litre so assuming 8 litres, that would make £152 vs £68 delivered from Opie. Near enough half price and not to be sneered at

mine goes in for running in tomorrow. But as the stealer is paying for it I haven't bought any oil.

Yes 10W60 Edge is the oil to use I get mine from Opie register at BMWLAND.CO.UK and use your details to get a discount.

Just make sure you tell the dealer NOT to overfill as its very bad for the car.

Neil.

Best is Castrol TWS 10w 60. You will need at least 9litres.
