Winter protection?

Hey guys. New here. Just wondering if there is some sort of protection from windy city winters as far as paint. Is there a sealant or something I can put on my car or is just good old fashion car washes every week to keep the salt and snow off the car the only way to go?

Check out the detailing forum for links to helpful tutorials! It is a good idea to use a paint sealant (I use Werkstat Acrylic Jett Trigger) before winter in addition to washing when you can to keep the salt from building up. I try to go through the touchless car washes in the winter when it's above freezing. If yo do that, make sure you go to one that sprays underneath your car too.
