Best iPhone Unlock?
I'm about to aquire my parnters 3G iPhone (she's upgrading to a 3Gs), and I want to unlock it so I can use my company Vodafone SIM (I'm fed up of the unuseful BlackBerry 8100 and can live without being connected to my works email!).
Can anyone recommend the best software to do this, I've found this, but don't know anyone with any experience of unlocking their iPhone (everyone seems happy with O2), and I don't want a load of hassle to get it working! Any help appreciated.

How good are you on computers? You can do it yourself for free here http://blog.iphone-dev.org/post/1269...edsn0w-in-june
You use Redsn0w to jailbreak it then ultrasn0w to do the unlock http://blog.iphone-dev.org/post/128573459/ultras-now Once its been unlocked you can install Tom Tom sat nav Hope that helps.. |

I used redsn0w and ultrasn0w to unlock mine... apart from one screen where you have to be a bit quick on your feet it goes fine.

Does this give compatibility with future Apple software versions?

OK all sorted, it turned out to be a permissions issue. All appears to be working nicely. Going to test in the morning. I think/ hope that the 3gs has a better GPS unit, because I have never been happy with the standard 3G GPS signal.

The 3G is the old iPhone (MkII) and was only available in 8 or 16GB. The 3Gs is the latest model and is available in 32GB.

Girlfriend has arsed up - she's not due a free upgrade until Jan, so my plans are on hold (unless I can find a cheap iPhone elsewhere). Looks like I'll have to put up with my shite BlackBerry for a few more months!
I've heard that O2 are soon to loose the sole contract for iPhones, so hopefully other providers will start offering it and the prices will go down.
