Comfort Access. Would it be worth waiting for?
For you CA lovers, given the choice between having to wait for a car with CA or going without and getting your car much sooner, what would you do?
I regretted not having Comfort Access in my E90...not majorly, but after reading so many posts lauding the feature, it seemed like the way to go next time. Well, next time came yesterday after my test drive of the E92. And, as usual for me, Mr. Impulse Buy was in charge. To get Comfort Access, I would have had to also get Sirius radio, which I don't want, or wait even longer. So I opted to get the car w/o CA that's already on the boat and has Sport/Premium/Step, which were musts...And it's white with black leather, and this is my first white car. (Hope it's as good at hiding swirl marks as silver is.) The one I got has everything I wanted but CA. It also has paddles, which during my test drive seemed cumbersome on the wheel. But I'll have to get used to them, and hopefully learn to enjoy them. So all in all, it's a bitchin car, but I'll still have to fumble with the fob while you CAers effortlessly glide in and off you go...

Get CA ... it is simply too useful a feature not to get it on a 2007 car

the start button makes a whole lot more sense with comfort access. otherwise you may as well be turning the key. i didn't order it either though. honestly don't even remember the sales guy mentioning it. im not concerned though...seems like something that's nifty but that i could easily live without.

If you make the same mistake twice, then shame one you! Why don't you just be PATIENT, and order the color and features (+ CA, - paddles, etc.) that YOU want? After all, you're in an E90 already... you can do it and you be happy(er) later. By the way you can change your order w/ no penalty.

I agree. The Stop/Start button is a much better concept with comfort access.

btw...from a security perspective, not getting CA is an advantage IMO. seems like car thieves are becoming more and more like computer hackers without it you need the key in the slot to start the vehicle...just saying someone may figure out how to reproduce the key signal and start the car pretty effortlessly. i know it's reachin but you never know

Either wait or compromise and get the SAT radio if it will be quicker.
Don't make the same long term mistake twice cuz you can wait another month or so |

Zero, thanks for the link. Quite a developed thread on the subject. After reading five pages of thread, I don't feel as compelled about CA as I did. Although for the most part, the folks with CA seem to really tout that feature. I'm just an IMPATIENT person. I don't wait well. So I think I'm gonna stick with the car I chose. Besides, my dealer is cool and didn't take a deposit from me and has already traded for the car; so I don't want to be wavering around over that option. But even from reading the responses to this thread, I know you guys with CA really do love it. I won't feel too bad w/o it. It would've been nice.
Thanks for all the input.

Turning on your light automatically is nice but automated door locks would be Imagine a world without a bunch of keys in your pocket.
