Poor FM reception - only when car is running??
I have a 2008 E93 and last year, FM radio and HD radio worked great all summer, put the car away for the winter, and this year the FM reception is terrible, noticed it right away when I got the car out for the year.
Super strong FM stations that never fade ever in any vehicle now fade in and out very easily and HD radio pretty much doesn't work at all. I noticed in the last few days that when I turn off the car, suddenly FM works great - if the engine isn't running, FM is nice and strong, HD and HD2 work great, but sitting in the same exact spot without moving, if I start the car, the HD signal is completely lost and the radio reverts to FM which becomes a bit faint and will fade in and out as I drive. Anyone else had this issue? I have disconnected the battery to reset everything and I actually pulled the radio today just to see if the antenna was still connected. Too lazy to get it to the dealer to have it checked out as I don't use the radio that much and will get them to look at it when it is in for an oil change. Rob

Sounds like a grounding issue.

my radio reception used to be fine, just recently the major stations that usually always come in fine have been unusable. I always use my iphone to listen to music, but every once in a while I like the radio.... but not anymore.
