Pic Of My New Car................

…………………….. well for the next few days at least. My beloved car has gone into a garage for some much needed bodywork after some wan*ker valet parking company returned it after my holiday and it looked like it was kept in Hellman Province- That’s another story/thread and I have made my comments very clear about that outfit.

But take a look at this little beauty the body shop have given me, she is real head turner. The fact it has no a/c, no lecky windows and no central locking really puts you at one with the car. It takes you back to a time when men were men and the guy who fixed your car was called Steve or Chris(no offence intended) and were covered in grease and oil, not Eugene who diagnoses you car via a laptop

Surely they could have replaced the 'Re' when they sorted the door out on that thing

What's more worrying - there might be another one just like the one pictured!

MB, you could have parked it properly, or were you hoping for a tow away?

Yes mate was me. I couldn’t deal with driving my pride and joy in that state anymore, although it was only stone chips, I just couldn’t do it anymore. To get it done properly I was quoted over 2.5K, didn’t have he dough so decided to get it done via my insurance. Was advised that it didn’t effect my no claims and I only had to stump up £350 excess. The garage doing it is approved and recommended by the insurance company and I personally know they get a lot of BM’s outsourced work. Buy clearly the courtesy cars are pure comedy value. The car will come back in show room condition and with the recent upgrade of the 225 19’s, the car will be how it should be

The funniest thing was another guy was dropping his merc in to get sorted, he also got one of these beauties as a courtesy car. We both left together drove down the same road (behind one another) all the way to Canary Wharf, went into the same car park and parked one car away from each other. You just couldn’t write it

I think you should post a pic of you standing beside your new steed, after all there's something erm 'interesting' about a man driving such a car.

Hope you get yours sorted all fine and dandy.

This is the deal, at least with my insurers (admiral). I was advised that with protected no claims you can essentially have 2 claims in any three year period where the insurance company does not get their money back (either your fault or something like what has happened to me). If I stick to only 2 claims of this nature in a 3 year period my premiums are not affected. Obviously if it’s not your fault none of this applies

That was the CLS 350d - completely gutless compared to the 335 (224bhp). Nice looking car and fairly roomy, but not worth the £45k basic

When some git crashed into my R32 Golf, the bodyshop gave me a 7 year old Micra that had been paint strippered on the bonnet!

I now have BMW insurance so should the same thing happen, at least I'll get a Beemer to use! Wierdly it was the cheapest too.

I'd have rejected it as a courtesy car, and insisted on the same model that MB had, the Merc was just taking the proverbial!

That was after I'd rejected the obligatory 3-door hatch, the C Class, the B Class and had agreed on E Class or 5 series as a minimum. The crazy thing is that the dealer could have supplied a car for £10 a day (to cover insurance), but the insurance company insisted on providing a car - at a cost of £180 a day, for three days.

No wonder premiums are so high.
