How to make your car feel faster....
Buy a second car which is absurdly slow as a daily driver, then when you get back into your BM, feels like it's a rocket!
I've just bought a Subaru Forrester 2.0X 56 plate, 23K miles. Nice and clean but feels truly asthmatic. Other road users can smell your fear too and cocks in Audi's cut you up just for fun. It's great to back to my real car which drinks from the filthy black cup. At least now it'll be properly detailed! |

Put bigger wheels on the back than on the front. Not only will you feel you're going faster but you also get the feeling of going downhill all the time thus saving petrol.

I've just spent the weekend driving a 1964 Alvis TE21 drophead and it was glorious However, getting back in my M3, and it feels like a Saturn 5 rocket! Amazing how much "progress" has been made in the last 40 years.

I am on hols in Devon at the moment, but could not fit all the baby stuff into the M, so we have driven down in her new shape C5 HDi. Great car, comfy, etc etc BUT I am so missing my M!!!
(the C5 has averaged 44.8mpg so far tho, the M3 would have struggled to do mid 20's lol) |

....cheers Carlos. Only here for a week but had to bring the laptop/mobile broadband to keep in touch with work. Stopping in Dawlish but spent the day in Torquay today. Was lovely, very sunny and went to great place where they keep penguins etc, so the kids loved it Off out for tea shortly and whip my 10yrs olds ass on the go-karts again |

Good thing about going on holiday in a different car is that kids can trash it and it doesn't break your heart (so much). Today went sailing in Abersoch and on return car full of bread, cheerios and sand.
Kids touching bodywork with suncream on is pretty terminal for the finish also! Still return trip on some blinding drivers roads painful..... though I'd have been reined in by my wife anyway so that might have been even more punishing. |
