Screw the cops and what they think of your tint. When they make my lease payments, they can tell me what I can and cannot put on my car. Until then, pound sand. Im registered in NC (35% legal) and have never had an issue in my home state with 20% in the last 10 years. I did however get a tint ticket in Va.. Even though I live in NC and have NC tags on the car! Just another worthless punk Va state storm trooper though, just looking for a buck and a bust. Its not like 20% tint is some sort of safety hazard (unless you are night blind or something). Go with the 20 and roll with it if you get a ticket. If you live in Va though or another Nazi communsitwealth, where they are more concerned about tint than they are about the guy who broke in your car, then I'd advise against it. |

I'm not into dark tint and have 50% Front and 35% Rear. I think most people would want to go darker. At leat 20% for the rear.

Yea I love the darker. I have 5 on rear and sides and have the OEM purple ish tinted front windshield and I think its badass. You get used to it to in terms of night driving. Cant see anything though backing up on a rainy night.

I have 25%. With black interior that's plenty dark enough (and 25 is the legal limit here for front, so that's why I picked it). I have had as dark as 15% before, but visibility starts to become an issue any lower than that, IME.

i have a black on black E90 and did 35%. I'm very happy with it...just dark enough to look good but that blonde at the red light can still see me pick my nose.
I see you're in LI OP so be prepared to get hassled. I know people say, "F the police," but I would hesitate going too dark unless you want to get pulled over every other day...plus don't they ticket you for each window in NY? Remember it draws attention to your car so make sure you're not doing anything else wrong. It just gives them an excuse to pull you over.
