Is each time a new HPFP fuel pump is replaced, is the car's software updated too?

Curious, if the firmware of the car is also updated always when a new HPFP is installed, or it's unrelated / unnecessary.

Wastegate = Software update
Fuel Pump = Not neccesary, but they might if you're pre 29.2 for mod detection

Car's a May 08 build, so I don't know about the software version, but I'd assume it's MSD81. Invoice didn't mention a software update, and that's what the SA verbally told me.

How do you check what software version your car is currently at?

Software is only updated during an HPFP install if your software is prior to a certain integration level.

only the dealer can tell you.

to the OP: if you have softrware 29.1 or 29.2 get that sit out of your car... you have lots of lag whether you know it or not.
best to have 32.1 up to 33.x which restores performance close to pre 29.2 levels.

initial reports are that 34.x is not as good as 32.x or possibly 33.x

cheers
