Magnaflow Exhaust
This has got to be the best sounding exhaust on the market! I've listened to it at least a dozen times in the last few days. I'm planning on having mine done as soon as I get back from Afghanistan. Anybody have experience with Magnaflow on their 335i (good/bad)?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S4-e2puOL0s I talked to the previous owner and he asked me to post this info up since he had received countless PMs about it. If you're interested, it was a custom Magnaflow system but this one is very similar; http://magnaflow.com/02product/shope...ne=all&id=7675 He adds that he also had catless DPs |

Definitely interested in the system myself. I am trying to decide between this and the Borla setup.

Good point, I'll have to contact maganflow for some more info. But i think the only difference between the e90 and e92 exhaust (in most cases) is that the e92 model is 2-3" longer. If so, any pro installer could do that easily. Either way, I will post their response as soon as I get one.

I have been really happy with the MagnaFlow cat-back on the 335.

Both sound great (and somewhat similar, MF a little louder/lower maybe).
Differences: Magnaflow is cheaper. +1 Magnaflow doesn't replace the stock cats, AE does. +1 Magnaflow uses an X-pipe, AE is totally separated. +1 +1 for AE |

I thought an X-pipe was the better choice. From what I understood, it helped equalize the exhaust pressure between the pipes.

X/H whatever for load balancing is for n/a engines... it helps usually with low-mid range torque. On turbo's you just want straight out as fast and easily as possible. Most exhausts (except AE) use them on this car to reduce drone. Typically you will hear the "experts" say each turbo should have it's "own" exhaust, therefore no x/h. That is my preference as well.

FWIW.... if you are interested in a magnaflow exhaust, I would buy the magnaflow mufflers and tips individually from a place like jegs.com or summitracing.com and have your local muffler/welding shop fabricate a custom axle-back. I did this and it came out just over $400. Honestly, cat-back exhausts aren't going to net you a whole lot of power to the wheels so why not spend the extra $800 you save with the custom axleback and put it toward a Procede! Just my opinion though.
I have pics of my exhaust in case anyone is interested, but it's just two magnaflow mufflers welded in place with 4" magnaflow tips. Mufflers and tips cost around $220 while the install was a bit over $200. |

Its funny how you have different "expert" opinions on different forums. On all the nissan forums x or h pipe is a pipe is a must. Even the factory system has an x pipe. You will find the same opinion on any of the domestic sites. Technically the stock exhaust has both sides connected on a 335 at the muffler. Not saying who is right or wrong ....
