My E90 Kyosho Model - Pictures

If anyone has been thinking about ordering the 1:18 scale models BMW offers, you may be in for a real surprise-- at least I was with regards to the quality and detail for a USD 70 priced toy!

I posted a bunch of pictures that I took of it. I think that with the right backdrop you may not even know it was a scale model.

The paint appears to be the real thing on a metal body. The biggest kick was the seat belts constructed of ribbon. And there's even a display on the iDrive.

that's a lot of money for a toy car.. I'd pay $20 for it.. but that's about it.

though it's impressive the car can turn its wheels, has active suspension, all this and that, but what for? it's gonna sit on your bookshelf and collect dust. if it were remotely controlled car, then i'd be impressed.

No, he paid retail. Kyosho is not some cheap plasticy piece like a Maisto or Burago. WIth Kyosho you pay for the extra fine detail, and better paint scheme. Sooo he didnt over pay. Now if youre like me and get them at cost thats about 49.95. Dealers charge 69.95, and up for certain models. They have the E92 coupe with Space grey over Coral thats really nice, check that one out.

It would be nice if BMW just gave you one which looks like the one you ordered (color, rimms, options..)

They should. Toyota gave out FJ CRUISER 1:18 models in the color you got your FJ.

I just bought the E92 coupe, same as the pic above on Ebay. It was 65.00 plus 8.50 shipping, but thats not too bad because these are great quality.

Excuse me, but Maisto is not cheap!! I have several Maisto models and sure, some of the parts are plastic and use decals but the attention to detail is pretty remarkable for its price range. Sure, Kyosho does go the extra mile for their models but there's a spectrum...just like for airliner models, there is Schabak which are really nice and then you have the more expensive, higher quality models like Herpa. None of them are cheap quality...
