335i M Sport Saloon

Chaps,

When I manage to find the right car/deal etc (335D more than likely), I'll be needing to sell the 335i.

I'm going to be racking up some serious miles so only now does an oil burner make financial sense.

Happily consider p/x with 335D, must have similar spec to mine, not bothered about saloon/coupe etc, but needs to have low miles.

My car:

Feb 07/56 plate E90 335i M Sport Saloon Auto
BMW plus 1 previous private owner (not press car!)
32k miles
Silver with Black leather
Auto box
Pro Nav
Bluetooth with Telematics etc
Voice control
Sliding front armrest
Heated Seats
Xenons
Partially electric front seats
Rear folding headrests
iPod prep
Recent Vredesteins all round (non rft)
Just serviced (oil, inspection, brake fluid and air con)
Latest software updates

Being fussy, there is a tiny ding in one of the doors and a slight mark on the front bumper where someone has reversed into it.

All niggles have been sorted (or due to be on Monday week - sticky door handles, wheel centres and kerb marks, software etc), car needs nothing for 15k miles.

£20,750

Please let me know if you're interested and I'll keep in touch!

Cheers

Ben

Chaps,

Car is now on 37k miles - what would be a sensible price to advertise it for? All AUC cars are well over £30k but 08/09's so cannot work out its value.

All the best,

Ben

Ben,

Glasses guide online lists your car at:

Trade - Average £17,500
Trade - Excellent £19,500
Retail - £22,250

For a private sale, you want to be looking at £21k ish IMHO. Proabably doesn't help you too much, but at least it gives you a starting point.

Cheers Matt

So it looks like the price I set in the ad is not a million miles away!

Wish I didn't have to sell as it is such a belting car, but diesel economy is a must with the miles I'm doing!

All the best

how many MPG are you getting with the 335i?
compare that with how many you expect to get with a 335D (late 30s) and it might not be a sensible cost to change. if you are keen on MPG over performance would a 320D (50mpg?) make more sense?

Ben - I have a 335d and I would say don't get too excited about the extra mpg.
Mine is pre Efficient Dynamics so not as good on fuel as the latest but still a good indicator - I've yet to get above 40mpg and generally get low to mid 30s. I do drive it hard and going a bit more carefully makes a big difference but the mpg is not outstanding.

What is amazing is the torque - if you want a dollop of extra shove then this is the car for you. Emissions are also pretty low for a quick car and insurance seems very sensible too.

Hmmm, I had started to write a PM offering you mine in PX, but I just dont think I could - if it had been manual and you had liked mine, then we might have been on...

Sorry if this is a bit like a 'look what you could have won' post, but I just wanted you to know that there are people out there who would consider your car, and that the price isnt what put me off - I just want a manual.

Thanks Chaps.

I have an overall average of 29MPG during the last 15k miles which is a true mixture of driving circumstances. On a decent motorway run I get circa 34, but if the traffic dictates I have to sit at about 70 it goes up to nearly 40MPG. The computer is pretty darn accurate too.

In town the MPG plummets to sub 20, hence the 29MPG overall.

The economy vs performance is brilliant, when I did the Evo feature with the Evo FQ330 and new S4 there was nothing to tell the cars apart in terms of performance and the MPG on mine was better than both.

I've pretty much decided I need a 4 pot diesel to make it worth my while finanicially to change and the only engine I really like the sound of is the one found in the 123D and Alpina D3 twin turbo.

The Alpina is my preference, but with poxy standard specs I just can't live without the toys, so have found a 123D Coupe that I'm looking at doing a deal on but as usual the p/x on mine isn't where I need to be.

I'd not bat an eyelid to get another 335i, the best all round car I've had since my B5 RS4 or 996TT. Must be something about 6cyl twin turbos

And Matt, it's the first pure auto I've ever owned as a car for myself and to be honest I've quite enjoyed it. The gearbox software is decent enough to use with the paddles for a pseudo SMG without the thump!

Cheers,

Ben

Totally agree mate,

I'm sure that like my 335d it's auto box is great - it's just my motivation for wanting a 335 is all about the noise and the box!!

Good luck though mate!!

Good luck finding the manual car of your dreams!

When I bought mine they had a manual car but it was red with alcantara trim (but had all the rest of the toys) but I thought I'd get hammered come re-sale on it! Perfect track spec with proper box and grippy seats mind you!
