Night mode

Hi all,

I have a problem with my 2009 e92 (with 2009 iDrive) being stuck in night mode.

When I select option and check and un-check night mode, it does nothing!

When I use the spare key, it isn't in night mode.

Anyone else experienced this issue?

So just to confirm the spare key works ok?

Have you tried un-check night mode, then turn off, remove key. Then power back on? Maybe the value isn't being set correctly in the key.

Also might be worth resetting the data on the main key (option in the i-drive). Bit of a pain if you've done allot of changes!...

Did another play with this, I un-checking, powering off and then powering on again, to no avail.

Where is the resetting option in the idrive? Can't see it, just rtfm now but can't see anything anywhere?

Have you tried re-starting the iDrive system (not resetting but restarting)?

Hold the ON button (volume button) down for about 25-30 seconds and the system should restart, that may help. This is from last page/ page 71 of the attached document.

Q: Have you found out how to do a actual reset? (change all settings to factory defaults)

Select 'i' then Vehicle / Tyres.

Scroll to the right and 'Delete Data' but I am making an assumption this is key data, as it's next to a favorite key option I think!!!..

So do you have to select night mode, or does it switch on when the headlights are turned on?

Hi Guys,

Turns out I was being stupid and didn't in fact have night mode on, but had the 'Traffic Map' on.

Turned that off and I can toggle night mode off and on again. I also now see my map icons, which weren't available in Traffic Map mode.

creepy coupe: You can set night mode by being in the map screen and then clicking 'option', then scroll down to Map options and it's in there. I think. I am saying this from memory
