Find a place in your area that sells automotive paint and supplies to body shops. You'll get more of it and it will be of higher quality than what you'll find at the hardware store plus it's cheaper. DO NOT USE BETALINK ON YOUR SPOILER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Make sure you get the thin version. I accidentally bought the thicker version and you can see a bit of the tape under the spoiler. Fortunately, I have space gray so it blends in a bit. Also, don't buy the tape at Staples. It is 2-3x more expensive there than HD or Lowes.
One other tip. Cut the tape in two and stick it on your spoiler. If you use a single strip, you'll need to curl it a lot and it'll be harder to get it flush. |

I'm not sure what that one looks like underneath, but usually there is a recessed area under the spoiler for the 3M to go. You will start with one long piece weaving it around the spoiler, then fill in with smaller pieces, half pieces etc. all trimmed with a razor blade to get it 100% covered. Pay close attention to the ends, as they will be most likely to raise up if there isn't enough tape. ALso, keep in mind that 3M has multiple grades of all their products. That is why it is important to source your tape from an autobody shop. That way it is the correct thickness and has adhesive properties specifically for a painted surface. Plus, you seriously get 10x more for the same price. When I put on my M3 spoiler, I got a roll larger than a softball in diameter for $10 seriously!

Clean off area where spoiler is installed with rubbing alcohol. Trial fit the spoiler then put pieces of masking tape around the perimeter of the spoiler in the corners and ends to help position the spoiler. Lastly, tape the spoiler onto the lid with a few pieces of masking tape. Then CAREFULLY cut the tape at the junction of the spoiler and the trunk. That way you can match up the cut ends of the tape to get the perfect fit. Should take all of 15 minutes if you are really careful. It also helps to have a second person to help with the positioning.
