Saddle Brown owners - need some help!

Well guys, it's that time. My lease on my Lexus will be ending on the 22nd of this month (finally) and I will definitely be leasing/purchasing a 335i coupe. I have already narrowed my choice of exterior color to black sapphire. The only dilemma I'm having is the fact that I simply cannot pick an interior color. I know Black Dakota is going to be nice with the Dark Burl and is not a setup you get tired of at all due to the fact I have a similar one on my Lexus. But every time I see the Saddle Brown/Gray Poplar combination I fall in love more and more, but question some things as well:

1.) While you are driving do you feel like the interior is a bit too intense and somewhat distracting to your eyes?

2.) Have you ever gotten sick of the color combo. and wanted black for instance?

3.) How hard is it to maintain the interior? Coming from someone who has driven in a black interior for 3 years I spent almost no time at all trying to keep my leather looking good.

Also, some general opinions on the color would be nice as well!

3) Lot easier than tan or lighter colors. A bit harder than Black or Dark Gray. color.

Bottom Line : You won't be disappointed

I only had the interior detailed once when I got the car. It's been almost a year and it still looks like new. But I only drove it for 6000 miles. I need to drive it more often.

Overall I think saddle brown is more unique but you can never go wrong with black.

Saddle brown is very easy to maintain, no lines after two years, I love it, just had a x5 as a replacement car for a day, had saddle brown also, was a pleasent surprise. The only color that is better in my opinion comes with the individual, similar to saddle brown, but pricey, will try to get the one next time. To sum it up get it, you will not regret it.

I love saddle brown. Love the color but even more so, I love that this is one of the colors that give you more of a contrasting 2-tone interior. If you look at beige for instance, EVERYTHING is beige. But with saddle you get black carpeting and black accent pieces. Very classy...

I agree. That is what made me fall in love with the color. With Gray Poplar it looks really unique, although some say it does look better with the Dark Burl finish. I think the Gray Poplar will compliment it more and not give the inside such a "brown" look. Gona go take a look myself tomorrow, but I am doubting that the dealer will carry many of this combination. *Fingers crossed*

Love mine, 1.5 years and still love it everytime I get in. Also something to note is that most other light colors have light color on the consoles, seat trims carpets etc, but with saddle, you essentially get a full black interior with only the seats, and armrests being saddle, all the plastics and carpets are black, so it is not over done. It is easy to keep up as most of the surfaces that get dirty are black - seats are much easier to deal with than the really light colors. I do notice my jeans leave a little color on the seats after a few weeks, but a little Zaino leather cleaner wiped on and they look like brand new again.

Go for it - you won't be disappointed!

Be wary when some one say's "classy". "Classy as hell" is really somthing else.

I think the grey poplar with the brown is going to be very different, which is good, but that contrast is one I would not mess with.

I like the black dash and other black contrast in the interior.

Somtimes change is good, so go for it.

I don't think im going to do brown again and like the "Conservative" look of black with the dark wood. Maybe "Classy=Conservative". But IM changing to a lighter color car so the dark interior will work.

Get what you want. Try to find a saddle with the grey poplar in photos and see if you like it. Too bad they don't have the piano black trim in the states. That would be cool on a black car. Or.....That would be "classy as shit!"

Saddle and Grey Poplar is awesome - the Greay Poplar looks pretty much black, so goes very nice - I actually didn't like the Saddle with Burl when I saw it as the 2 browns clash with each other (just my opinion)!

I have a pic here you can see the combo in http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=231257

I ordered mine with Saddle and Dark Burl but I really wanted Grey Poplar trim. Unfortunately, Grey Poplar isn't available for the sedan.

I ordered mine with Saddle and Gray Poplar as well. Alpine White exterior.

I'm currently driving an E90 325i with Black Dakota and Dark Burl. The combination works, but I've always disliked a little bit the way the brown wood trim breaks up the black on the top of the dash and below the trim, i.e. glove box, etc. One of the cars I test drove was black with Gray Poplar and there was less of that effect, and that's really why I went with it.

Microfiber towel with distilled/filtered water to clean followed by Z-9 Leather Soft Spray Cleaner and Z-10 Leather in a Bottle about once a month in the summer, once at the start of fall and once during the winter and once during the spring. The only reason for the additional cleaning in summer is usually have more passengers and I want to make sure to apply the "Leather in a Bottle" for UV protection.

Pretty simple, takes me about 25min for front and back seats of the coupe

+1,000,000!!!

I LOVE my Saddle Brown interior. From a heat standpoint, it's not all that bad in the summer time. My interior stays pretty cool relative to an all black interior. You won't be sorry you got it. Besides, EVERYONE has a black on black car... Boring!!

+1 on the Saddle and Grey Poplar

I get nothing but good comments running this color combo because EVERYONE loves it. It is not overkill and not hard to maintain. The Grey Poplar looks like Grey with hints of brown scattered throughout and blends very well with the black dash and brown seats.

I would pick the Saddle with Grey Poplar over the Dark Burl anyday. NO REGRETS!!!

Look for some pics. There was an interior thread floating around last year with lots of pics that kept me entertained while I waited for my car to come in.
