Car cover and hot exhaust tips ?

Hi,

I just got the cheapest car cover I could find and its well worth the $25 I have a white car and I can keep it clean even for a whole week...before I could only keep it clean until the next day...when dust and leaves were all over the car.

But I am afraid that it may melt or even catch fire after I put it on because the exhaust tips are a bit hot...

I wonder if the higher brand covers like Covercraft of Coverking have some protection mechanism or even some holes near the exhaust tips area ? Does anyone have experience with those ?

Unfortunately a cheap cover will eventually scratch the hell out of the paint if you are using it on a daily basis.

I store my Porsche for months on end sometimes. But I use a real cover. These are some of the best: http://www.calcarcover.com/cover_about.aspx

And no, they won't burn from hot exhaust tips. But you shouldn't cover a car when it's hot anyway.

Why you are covering a white car on a daily basis is beyond me. Cars will get dirty, that's why we wash them. And a lighter car shows dirt LESS than a darker colored car. Try owning a black car.

I'd re-think your strategy, if I were you. Good luck.

Quality covers are important. You will scratch the hell out of your car if its covered with a cheap cover. Dont cover the car hot. If you do, dont cover the exhaust tips.
