Anyone have a Valentine Radar Detector?

I'm picking up a car (if all goes well) on Friday and driving it back from Chicago. Does anyone have a V1 or similar radar detector I can borrow or rent near PHX?

Please advise asap!

Thanks.

Just buy one.

It'll be well worth the money, and most members will agree to its benefits.....Although it's not guaranteed to prevent tickets, but it will save you many times.

I like the Passport 8500i. Its simplicity and performance make it the best choice for me.

I guess you have to be a "good boy" and follow the speed limits. (Just this one time)

You said new, right? That means you really do have to drive easy since you're in break-in period........Unless you've already past the break-in.

I love to speed, but I hate getting a ticket much, much, much more! It's one of the worst feelings for me.

Just take it easy on the way home, break your car in properly. Be sure to vary your speed and rpm on they way home. I would avoid using the cruise control as well so that your engine doesn't stay at the same RPM for an extended period of time.

+1

I took my M3 for a 300 mile cruise and then another 300 miles back.

I varied my rpm's and changed gears often throughout the hwy. Although, I did punch it to 5,500 a few times......OK FINE MAYBE I DID 6K RPM! hahahehe

Haha too bad you didn't order sooner! Did you tell them you want a 'refurbished' one and get 10% off?

radar... 88 in 65 only $95 and already got a lawyer that said he should be able to knock it down to a fine with a 3 mo suspension where I can't get any tickets in IL. Shouldn't be hard as I have no plans of driving it back to the previous owner.

Well, I thought it was going to be a $400+ ticket, so I wasn't too mad. But getting a ticket a couple hundred miles into a 1900 mile drive scared me the rest of the way :-(.
