0-60 and Sports Mode
Ok so my question is I have a 325i AT and i've always statistically wondered whether regular drive and DS and M1-M6 would yield different 0-60's? I'm just curious whats the best way to take off in my car?

take off? you need a jet engine for that bro.
otherwise, if you are trying to drag race someone, just shift manually from M1 - M6 or Drop it in DS and let the car shift for you.

With the loud pedal flat to the floor, it won't make any difference. Shifting manually at the optimum shift points may get you a slight edge but if you're talking D vs DS it will be the same on full throttle..

it definetly has a much more torquey feel but I suppose thats do to the RPM differences. I feel as tho the M/DS mode helps when already in 4th gear for instance then flooring it because it drops to 2nd or 3rd gear? If i'm correct?

For 0-60 it makes no difference but..
My E90 is a 6MT but I find our 750i actually shifts a little too late when it D or DS. I revs a few hundred over redline and you can feel the power drop off before the shift. Not sure if the Step acts the same way in the E9x though. Not that I'd ever be racing the 7er, but for the fastest acceleration manual mode with perfectly-timed shifts might yield better results. Just something for you to try I guess.

i prefer to shift it myself as I feel it's better.... cause in DS, I too feel that it lags/loses a bit of power at the end when it goes past redline...

I have to respectfully disagree with what everyone has said, as I have time slips to prove my thoughts...I took my completely stock 330 to the track and tried all three modes with dsc on and off. My best times came with dsc off and in DS mode, obviously the d mode was slower, about .6 of a second slower...the manual mode was about .5 seconds slower than my best time in DS mode...all my DS modes were very consistent in the 14.4 to 14.5 range at around 95-96mph...in d mode I was looking at 14.9 to 15.0 seconds at 94-95mph
So there is a clear difference in which mode the car is the fastest...in a straight line with the foot to the floor you cant shift anymore precise and faster than the computer in DS mode....say what you will but I did this test numerous times and the results were the same..I even played with torque braking it and burnouts for stickier tires...DS mode was a sure win
