Twice a Victim

So...my wife and I are driving down the interstate on a 250 mile journey this evening. We are about 100 miles in when my 335i decides to die. Fuel pump I assume as the symptoms were the same as the first time this happened. Two hours later we are in a tow truck for the rest of the ride to the dealership.

Once we are at the dealership, we have to push the car into a parking spot... I ask my wife to steer while I push...she is soon telling me that she is trying to turn the wheel further when I look up to see she is applying all of her weight to pull the steering wheel though it has reached its turn lock limit. Granted she's light weight, but do you think there is anything that could have been damaged from this? I realize I am anal but after tonight, but I just want to make sure everything is checked out while it is in the shop - anything I need to have the dealership look at while it's in?

P.S. I am sure we will have some jokes coming in on this and they are more than welcome (probably will lighten the mood) but any helpful content as well would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

I'm assuming the engine wasn't running, obviously it would only be idling at best with the HPFP failure while your wife was cranking the wheel. If it wasn't I'd say it's probably fine.

Iam quite surprised about you having to push it into a space. That is the kind of work the stealer employs people for.

yea you def shouldnt be parking it yourself under those circumstances.

also, do you have active steering? perhaps with the car off this will factor in for the lack of being able to turn the car any further

well, finally got it back. TWO fuel pumps out and replaced... Any idea on if this issue has been resolved yet with the new pumps?

Steering seems to be fine thankfully. Now just worried about taking it on any other road trips.

as far as I know, the 09 fuel pumps aren't working any differently although there are rumors of new working hpfp on MY 2010's although I wouldn't get my hopes up lol.

always been thinking about an m3 - any ideas on whether or not they also have reliability problems as well? Hate to think I have to worry every time I take the thing on a road trip?
