Ignition Puzzler

I have a 1986 BMW 325es and almost everytime I restart the engine the clock/computer and the radio needs to be re entered. I have replaced the ignition switch and I stll have the problem.

Does anyone have any odea what the problem is?

ooh, also consider writing a letter/email to the Roundel. Their tech talk is awesome.
