Procede V3 installtion question
Do you need to disconnect the battery before the installation? I watched the video but it didn't say you have to. Also after you reconnect the battery, do you need to enter an activation code for the radio, gps, etc?

The first time I did and I had to reset the clock, and I think that was it, I dont have i-drive btw. OTher times I would just let the car sit for 20 minutes or so and then started the install/uninstall.

You don't have to disconnect the battery to install the PROcede.

I've never once disconnected the battery to install the Procede and have never had any issues or fault codes registered at each upgrade. Make sure the remote is removed from the dash or if you have Comfort Access, move remote away from the car. Shut the doors although it's not necessary to lock them. That's it !!

Do not open the trunk or doors if you leave the battery connected. I threw a check engine light immediately, but the problem I may have had was my Procede was used and had old firmware for an MT car and I have an AT.

Disconnect the battery....anything in the car that uses electricity will trigger that CEL light...including opening the doors, trunk, sunroof, putting windows down, etc, etc.....Throwing the code doesn't hurt anything but it takes a bit for it to go away....

I am referring to opening said doors and trunk while in the ECU w/battery connected. If you already have those things open and do not change the state of the car then no problem...
