Weird Issue with my e93

This is really starting to piss me off...

If it been raining or I have recently washed my car, etc. water wells up SOMEWHERE along the passenger side A-pillar such that when I push the gas (in a more spirited manner, lol) a bloody stream of water comes pissing into the car and soaks my seat/door panel or otherwise my passenger... (and puts water spots on my otherwise spotless car)

This happens if the window is open (which it usually is) and both the roof is on or off...

WTF?!

If it really is a bloody stream of water, you should get that looked at immediately. If it's just a regular stream of water, I can't imagine why your e93 would be any different than anyone eles. I woudln't call that a "design flaw" as much as I'd call it a "design shortcoming".

I haven't had any issues of that sort with mine, except the small drops that occur when washing the car. When it is raining extremely hard, I only get a small drop coming from the top portion of the roof where the hard top locks down...

Here in Florida, it is the season for torrential rains - and my e93 is bone dry. I don't think anything else is 'normal.' A few drops of water might be acceptable.

No no... MY car doesn't leak water into the car...

It seems like there is a small amount of water depositing somewhere and when i boot it the water is propelled along the A-pillar... if the window is open, it will come into the car...

Has anyone else experienced this?

ooooo, I see what you mean. Hmm...I don't exactly drive the car with the windows open when it is raining due to there still being streams of water coming off of cars...but no, I don't think this happens to me.

However, it may have occurred when I did spray the windshield and my windows were open...

No, hasn't happened to me yet, but I've never configured my car as the way you have to get that result.

Any certains speeds this happens at, above 60km? Could be some aero infuence but not sure where the water is coming from, maybe the seam between the A-pillar and the windshield.

I have to laugh at this, such a freak occurance!

HAHAHA, steph, I have the EXACT problem......if it's raining, windows open, and I step on it, I get peed on........if i drive fast enough, the water will just fall on my sleeve, and protect the luvchild......

For some reason though, doesn't happen on the passenger side, so now I just keep my window closed and keep the R window open....

It's a total pain in the ass..................but the Aero lip looks HOTTTT!!

Happy Smartys Day.

Huh?

I don't drive with the windows open in the rain!!

I open the windows when the car is DRY and its DRY outside but water stores somewhere in a weather seal or something and is EJECTED from its point of storage when I accelerate quickly.

And you should seriously adjust your sprayer nozzles if you're getting wet when you clean you windshield! Not a good idea to get it on your skin either as is contains methanol (methyl alcohol) which is poisonous.

No, no hun... This happens AFTER is rains! It's like the water doesn't drain off of the car...

And for some reason it only happens on the passenger side (better for me!) but its still uber-strange!

Happy Smarys Day!!!
So glad the lip worked out well, felt terrible that I couldn't help you with the (pathetically simple) install!

haha, i know what you're talking about.....yes, even after the rain has passed, water gets stored in the seal somewhere, and BAM-O, pee-when-spirited-throttle.......I have THAT problem too! Even if it's the next day!

Don't feel bad, that install was so ridiculously simple, I can't believe I was even considering having you give me a hand, lol.........

I had the same problem as described here:

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...t=78299&page=2

It's because a cylindric hole in the middle of the rubber on the side of the windshield frame gets clogged (get your baby topless and you will notice it). Use canned/compressed air from the top to get the dirt out of the bottom. Make sure to have someone holding a cloth at the bottom because it might get messy. Cheers

Hasn't happened to mine yet (2 years old and 29,000km). Just a few drops (anywhere from 2 to 10) come in from both top corners of the windshield when I drive off from some touchless car washes. Does not happen in every touchless wash. Some worse than the other.
