buying after lease

has anyone purchased their car after the lease was up. and if so, did you pay off up front or finance thru BMW. Do bmwf even finance you at lease end ?

You can a. Return the car, b. Re-lease the car, c. Buy it outright, d. Finance to own.

If you're looking to finance and are under 60,000 miles, you may want to consider having the car certified first. That way you'll get the extra 2 years of cpo warranty, roadside assistance, and usually much lower interest rates vs a non-cpo car.

are there any extra cost to have it certified. the other thread on lease extension- people stated that you can only extend lease if you are ordering a new car...

You can extend a lease for up to 6 months at the same monthly rate if you have a new car on order. But you can also re-lease your car with a new agreement, nobody does that though, they take you to the cleaners. I've heard of rates doubling or more for the people who tried.

Usually you work out a final price with your dealer for a buyout, it may include certification or it may not; if the latter then they may charge up to $1500 for it.
