Which light are you trying to dim? The turn signal bulb or the little one above it?

09 LCI uses LED's for that bulb. That mod would be pretty hard to do with an LED cluster...
Honestly though, the LED's look sweet and they only turn on when you signal. There's a row of 3 LED's at the top by the eyebrow that I guess you could try to turn off but that's probably pretty hard to do. |

halogen e90 lci doesn't use led turn signals in the front, and the 3 small led's above the turn signals are not avaiable on halogen equipped e90 lci's.
that looks like an interesting mod, maybe i'll try it out |

You know another mod you can do is buy an LED cluster bulb. As long as it has a resistor to fool the car into thinking it's the regular bulb, it should work quite well. |

yeah, i would love that. but from what I heard, there are no aftermarket LCI halogen turn signal bulbs, the turn signal bulb sizes are very unique for the LCI halogen, i heard you can only get OE, and can only get a replacement from the dealership. |

this needs a bump...searched and i can't find any definitive answers. so just a recap i have the halogen lights and they have the amber bulb turn signal and not the led's...can i do the linked diy if i buy the bulbs from the dealer and have the same outcome as the diy?

I have seen the Angel eyes on by themselves without the amber turn signals. How do they do it without taking out the bulb? Also, Is there a way to get the angel eyes to come on without constantly having to switch the headlights to position 1? I don't have idrive.

i think that option is only available on ones with the i-drive...the only option you get is position 1 and you have to deal with the ambers. that's why i wanna do this mod.

The angel eyes can function as DRLs (meaning they are on by themselves).

Yes, just angel eyes an no parking lights. Not really sure how you would activate the DRL feature since it is standard on my car (all cars in Canada require DRLs). I have seen threads about activating DRLs, so you might want to do a search.

when he is in position 0 (DRL), these inner lights come on the only option for him to run just the angel eyes are: 1) disabled DRL lights by software, the two h7 halogen inner bulbs closest to the kidney grills, no shop has the software for 2009 models yet 2) manually unplug the two DRL h7 halogen bulbs (will have error on dash) 3) then switch to position 1, angel eyes will be on, as well as the amber turning signals this is how it will look like after step 3) I think he some how solved 1 and 2, and wants to dim/disable the amber turn signals when he puts it in position 1 |

ding ding ding...we have a winner folks. exactly right! option 3 is the easiest, however as you can see in the 2nd pic the amber are super bright drowning the effect of the halo rings. that's kinda why i wanted to do the corner dim, but not sure if it'll work with the lci. i'll go to the stealership and buy the bulbs when i get the time...see if it'll work.
