i want to trade my 08 328xi for a 335xi
Do u think i can go to the dealership and trade in my 08 328xi which has 14k on it already for a lower mileage 335xi which is what i desperately wanted in the first place, And if so is it worth it, or should i just keep my 328 for the summer?

Very simple answer. Can you do it? NO! Would it be worth it? moot point considering not possible. I'm confused by the very premise of this concept.

If you wanted a 335xi why didn't you just get it in the first place? I don't understand why people would spend the kind of money they do to get something they really didn't want in the first place.

I think OP means he wants to bring his car to the dealership as a trade-in on the downpayment towards a used 335.
OP, dealership won't give you much for your 328 and so you'll still end up paying a lot for the 335 upgrade. You're better off using that cash and doing Dinan or JB3 for your 328 because with that amount of cash you can probably get it equal to a 335 or better (without the HPFP failures!) |

lol, that's why I shouldn't reply so late at night again. I keep forgetting that 328's have less mods available than my 335. (I just found out today that not all LCI's have LED's) Oh and I love how you can contribute 3 or 4 DIY's involving electrical mods, repainting BMW's, and doing new things that no one has done but one mistake and the peanut gallery of people who can't even contribute 1 useful DIY or useful tip decides to flames on and you get no respect. No wonder people get no help here! /end sarcasm. (lol seriously, I'm not bothered by it but that attitude really chases away good help on E90Post but we all sort of know it just takes a few to ruin it for everyone already - just look at the other few threads here to get an idea).
Seriously OP, you're getting ripped off if you return it so soon. I posted before about trading to the M3 because I was sick and tired of these HPFP failures but I got lots of USEFUL replies and I checked it out. They're right, you'll get ripped off for returning a car less than 3 years old. Best is to stick it out and suck it up. Besides, even with the twin turbo, I'm finding I don't get much chances to use it. I have two friends who drive 328's and are pretty happy with it. The 328 has plenty of power and in a few years, you'll be envious of the new 3 series when they come out with a better and faster engine or a nicer design. That's the way it goes for cars. What I'm doing is I'm probably going to wait 4 years before upgrading to the new M3 or just keeping the car and buying the new M3 as another car (assuming I'm not living in a condo and I'll have the garage space for 3 cars). |

The dealer will rip you off. seriously. The e92 328i is the same car as the e92 335 but with 2 turbos.
In all reality, with the exception of the exhaust pipes, they look the EXACTLY same. A normal person on the street won't even be able to tell the difference. ( One guy asked me if my car is a 5 series ) And even if you are looking for that balanced look, there are alot of after market exhaust systems can give you that for alot less(Hamman, Remus). If Power is what you're looking for, get a supercharger, or better yet buy another car. There's TONS of cars out there that are cheaper then the 335i and ALOT faster. Blimmers are made for comfort and the occasional spirited drive. Keep the 328i as a DD, and just get something else. Supra maybe
