So went to the track today....

Just so were all on the same page have a 2008 XI. The only mods I have is an exhaust from Rogue engineering. I eliminated two of the cats with a straight pipe. Elevation was about 450 feet 80 degrees and maybe 50 percent humidity. I was averaging all day about 13.5 @ 101 mph. No matter what I do I cannot get a good launch. Tried with the traction off and limited. I just can get it and I did replace my CDV valve. Does anyone recommend how to launch these cars without breaking them? I had a stage three B5 S4 and never had any problems launching. Maybe I'm just an idiot but any suggestions on how to launch will be greatly appreciated.

seems these cars are pretty stout in terms of drive train durability. guys are launching at 4-5krpm and not complaining about anything...if anything a clutch(assuming you have a manual) if you are abusive with it.

just make sure you are slightly preloaded so you dont shock the drive train as much and break a shaft or something...the last awd car i drove, i got better results when i feathered the clutch out rather than dumping it and no clutch smell, just tires :-)

Since you have an awd 6mt,the best way to launch is at around 5-5500rpm,s with a quick slip.DONT dump the clutch, just a quick slip or you will break driveline parts if you dump.My last two cars before my 335 were modded Evo,s, so i know what i,m talking about as far as launching. My 60 ft times were always in the 1.7 range when i ran them at the track,(E-Town and Island dragway). Its going to take some practice, along with some burnt clutch smell until you get it down, good luck.
