2006 330xi vs 2009 328 xdrive

Hello

I think I am going crazy. I own a 06 330xi with auto and zhp on oem 17 inch rims and run flats. 50k miles... I bought it cpo with 40k miles...... I have always thought the car was a little sluggish off the line... But I attributed this to the auto and the AWD... Well yesterday, I was given an 09 328 xdrive coupe as a loaner.. 2k miles, auto, on 17 inch oem non zhp.

Both my wife I felt the loaner was significantly quicker than our car.... especially off the line. The vehicle felt less restrained or "heavy"... Should this be? How could it be? Yes, my car has more miles, and two extra doors.. but what has BMW done to give the xdrives a little more spunk? Can it be done to mine? Or am I just going crazy???? Has anyone else noticed this? All maintenance has been done on mine... Even the "software programming" for the transmission.

Regards

Garage List
2008 328i  [0.00]
the 328 is younger and hungrier for asphalt.

Different gear ratios. Hopefully it's not because the previous owner of your CPO fueled up with regular gas only...

adaptive drive tran.. reset it and it'll be fast like new.. maybe people try the 25 sec gas thing, i'm not sure if that works but dealer reset always worked.. it's fast right after a reset.. then slows down again since it adapt to ny traffic

update

Just picked my 330xi up from dealer.... They reset the adapt trans... Told me to drive the car just like I would like it to perform. Seems a little quicker... But had a lot of traffic.

Interestingly... They also performed an alcohol fuel test. Reported that I had 15% in my fuel.... Now this is very strange! I have filled up with Shell Premium 93 for months......... I also noticed that this test was noted on my paperwork. Thus, BMW will be covered against an future complaints or possible warranty work......... Guess I will have to start saving gas receipts..

It def is the transmission, i've driven about 3 328i loaners in the past two months and they all felt lazy and uninspiring. The funny thing is that they only seem to return almost the same MPG as the 330i.

15% alcohol in the fuel system?? Either the dealer is BS or the previous owner spilled a bottle of whisky into the fuel tank.
